Another industry first for Lockwood Windows

Following Lockwood Windows' recent industry first, which saw them manufacture and install a solid wood core composite door with a shaped top, they have continued to push the boundaries of what is possible with this material, by creating a bespoke round-topped composite door.
Under normal circumstances a customer with this shape of door entrance would not be able to have a composite door, as up until now, it has not been possible to shape the door slab due to the nature of the material - solid hardwood timber core encapsulated within a highly durable plastic edge banding and two thermo plastic door skins.
Because the Huddersfield based company has extensive knowledge of the composite door industry, and can manufacture on site, they have invested a great deal of time in finding a way to offer customers a truly bespoke service, whilst giving them the most secure and aesthetically pleasing door available on the market.
Managing director of Lockwood Windows, Richard Pogson, said: "We know that a composite door is a big investment for homeowners, so we wanted to be able to offer them the very best to fit whatever door surround they have."
Installing a composite door can be extremely beneficial for a number of reasons, not least security and energy efficiency. A 48mm thick solid timber core, pick-resistant multi-point locking systems - the Astral S - and reinforced door frames give you the strongest and most secure option available in a residential door.
